Dr. Theresa Pigott, DC - Founder of the Authentic Living Center - NET and Chiropractic Care - www.healingartsctr.com
I see myself as a healer, teacher, and guide in the sacred walk of life.  My mission is to inspire and ignite the power within, so we may live an authentic life.

The path for me has been varied and filled with much adventure.  My professional beginnings started at the University of Detroit, where I was trained as a Dental Hygienist and worked in that field for over fourteen years.  Then I followed a calling into religious life and lived, worked and prayed with the Adrian Dominican Sisters for three years.  I was on a determined quest to fulfill my purpose in life, following leads my guides gave me.  Some of the guidance was clear and some provided great learning experiences.  I then found myself back working in a dental office, where I was fired from a dental hygiene position.  This was one of the most trying times of my past; I was devastated by this event.

During this time, I had a dream and I was lead to become a Chiropractor.  I trusted and followed that path, one which has brought me tremendous joy, fulfillment, and a "knowing" that I am home.  This profession gives me hope for the future and a way for me to share my passion for holistic health care with others.  I am truly blessed.

I graduated cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1993, and have taken extensive post-graduate courses in nutrition, energy work, and emotional release techniques.  I was the first Michigan Chiropractor to be certified in NET (Neuro Emotional Technique) as well as the first Chiropractor to be on national television promoting this incredible, life changing technique.

I have accepted and acknowledged my role to be part of the solution in our ever growing health challenges.  I have been honored to witness true healing in the lives of hundreds of my patients that have embraced the holistic philosophy.

I again was divinely inspired to create the Authentic Living Center where all can come to be refreshed and renewed, to find a sanctuary of healing, and discover what brings absolute fulfillment in life.  The Authentic Living Center is a place for spirituality, healing, and personal transformation.

Namaste,
Dr. Theresa Pigott

I became seriously interested in yoga and Vipassana meditation in the mid-1990s, after struggling with depression and anxiety for most of my life. I was introduced to mindfulness meditation in a clinical setting in 1998, I undertook a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction training course under the direction of Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. and Saki Santorelli, Ed.D., at Mt Madonna, California.  I later received yoga teacher training certificates from the Sivananda Ashram in Val Morin, Quebec (1999), and from Sunstone Yoga, Dallas, Texas (2008).  I have received Bachelor of Arts Degrees in both Psychology and English from York University, Toronto.  I continued studying psychology at the University of Western Ontario, London.

In 2006, I moved to Michigan and have continued with my education here at Oakland University and Oakland Community College (currently studying Nursing and Exercise Science).

I am interested in continuing to help people to explore the physical and psychological benefits of both meditation and yoga, and would like to help people achieve their fitness goals through sound personal training techniques.

Acupuncture can be used for many concerns - ranging from anxiety and depression, to joint pain, hormonal imbalances such as hot flashes and infertility, autoimmune disorders, and fatigue.

Dr. Regina (Gina) Roberts, DC - Chiropractic Care
I grew up in Iowa not even knowing what the word "Chiropractic" meant.  My story began the day I had a head injury in high school.  Shortly after sustaining the injury, I began to develop symptoms that had me resorting to medication and hospitalization.  During my search for help, I met a chiropractor.  I was hesitant to try and have to admit that initially I assumed chiropractic services would not work.  chiropractic was a foreign type of treatment in my eyes and therefore I assumed it was not for me.  when the pain became excruciating I changed my mind and decided I had nothing to lose by trying.  I had my first adjustment in 1992 and five minutes following that adjustment, I knew that I had experienced a miracle and that my life would never be the same.  My symptoms were gone.  GONE! My Chiropractic life had begun.

I attended the University of Northern Iowa for my undergraduate work and began my chiropractic studies in 1994.  While in school, I was chosen for an internship with Dr. E. L. Crowder specializing in Upper Cervical Chiropractic for two years.  I also studied Atlas Orthogonal (A.).), Blair, N.U.C.C.A., and Knee-Chest Upper Cervical Techniques.  I graduated in 1997 with the Clinical Excellence Award and was ready to change lives.

My husband and I, both chiropractors, decided to begin our journey in Costa Rica.  We had a team of chiropractors and between us, ran four clinics, and established the law for Chiropractic in Costa Rica.  I was the first female in Costa Rican history to have my degree recognized in the Universidad de Costa Rica.  This opened the door to other Chiropractors and gave Chiropractic its identity there.

In 2004 we returned to the United States.  We were drawn to Michigan and have been working here since.

As the mother of three, I see the importance of including family members of all ages in the practice.  I have had the opportunity to work with many difficult cases where others had given up.  I love to meet challenges head-on and open my door to all patients.

It is with a great deal of joy that I join the Authentic Living Center family.  I look forward to meeting you and helping you obtain or maintain a healthy, happy life.

Dr. Pamela Tomaszycki, DC - Chiropractic Care
Please call me "Dr. Pam".  I did my undergraduate work at Wayne State University in their pre-med program. During this time, I worked in the office of a local chiropractor. I didn't fully understand how chiropractic treatment worked at that time, however, I did notice patients leaving with "pep in their step and a twinkle in their eye".  After witnessing the benefit of chiropractic services over a two-year period, I decided this was the field for me. As soon as I completed my studies at Wayne State, I enrolled at Life University in Marietta, Georgia.

I have been a Doctor of Chiropractic for nearly eleven years. I do a wide variety of adjustment techniques depending on the preference of each individual.  However, one of my favorites is Torque Release. It is a low force adjusting technique where I use the precision of an instrument similar to an activator to deliver the adjustment. It focuses on the tone of the nerve system from the skull to the tailbone.

In my spare time, I am a professor at Baker College and teach a class in Anatomy and Physiology. I've truly been blessed with the ability and support to be ableto work in a field I love.

Dr. Mujtaba Zahoor, N.D., N.M.D., C.M.Ht (Doctor of Naturopath/Alternative Medicine)     Certified Medical Hypnotherapist  -   www.holisticwellnessinstitute.com
At age five, I came to the United States from India.  I grew up and went to the public schools in Detroit.  After graduation from high school, I attended Wayne State University, then went on to medical school in the West Indies.  After completing my medical degree, I wanted to pursue a life of healing without prescription medications.  I know that a body is a marvelous creation and that when given the proper tools or help via nutrition, herbals, homeopathic, etc., the body can and will heal on its own.  So after complete my MD, I went to Naturopathic School in Arkansas and became a Naturopathic Doctor.  I have since also completed my certification to become a Certified Nutritional Consultant and a Total Body Modification Practitioner.  I later received certification as a Medical Hypnotherapist.  I know the more knowledge I have the better care I can provide to my patients.  Therefore, I am constantly educating myself, taking classes and seminars.  I feel with this knowledge my patients will better understand and help themselves to become healthy and live a healthy lifestyle.  Also this education allows me to provide more choices of therapies to correct what the root cause of the distress(es) to the body.  I believe that to correct any problem we must go to the root cause.  By doing so the problem is less likely to reoccur.  Suppressing with medications is like painting over a rusted area of a car and telling ourselves the rust is gone.  Sooner or later the rust will reappear and may have spread even further and deeper.
